"Fast and Furious" fans have something to look forward to as the cast and crew are already woking on the next sequel of the most favorite street racing action film. For sure, the movie will be packed with thrill, energy and power from characters, who will be battling in the highways.
There were rumors that Justin Lin, the director of the four series of the hit movie will be back to lead the production of the next sequel. For "Fast and Furious 7," Lin passed the power to James Wan, but this time, many believes that Lin will be taking the seat he left for Wan in the previous series, Enstars reports.
The speculations of Lin's return became an item after Vin Diesel, who plays the film's lead protagonist, Dominic Toretto, posted a photo of him with Lin on Tuesday.
However, with the impressive success of "Fast and Furious 7," some believe that Wan is still in. Many were impressed with how Wan overcame the grueling shots required for the film after Paul Walker's sudden death.
Casts and Plot
The eighth installment of "Fast and Furious" franchise will be welcoming more female roles. It will feature Eva Mendes, Helen Mirren and Ruby Rose. Mendes will reprise her role as US Customs agent Monica Fuentes, which appeared in "Fast and Furious 2." This time, she will also take the third wheel to Letty and Dominic's love story, Master Herald has learned.
Dame Helen Mirren will be one of the villains. She will work with Jason Stratham, the lead villain in the previous series. The report says that Mirren's character will help Deckard Shaw, portrayed by Stratham, to escape from jail. In "Fast and Furious 7," Shaw ended in prison after Toretto and his team got the better of him.
Diesel was honored that Mirren will be joining the cast, stating no reason other than "simply because it's Helen." On Helen's part, she revealed that she was not just honored to receive the offer for the role and admitted that it is her dream to play as one of the villains in the hit movie.
Stratham, on his part, was glad to be part of the team and overwhelmed that he will be doing another.
Rose, who became famous after her portrayal of Stella Carlin's character in the Netflix original series, "Orange is the New Black," admitted that she auditioned for "Fast and Furious 7" but was rejected due to her resemblance to singer, Justin Beiber. The actress revealed she is already having talks with the "Fast and Furious 8" creative team about a potential role, according to News Everyday.
The actress added, "It's so funny because now I'm in talks with that movie and I haven't mentioned to them that I know [they turned me down because I looked like Justin]."
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and Kurt Russel will also return in the latest installment.
"Fast and Furious 8" will premiere on April 14, 2007.
