‘Rosewood’ Season 2 Cancellation A Sure Thing To Happen As Show Struggles With Ratings

"Rosewood" Season 2 could be the last for FOX's American police procedural drama. The show has been struggling to get decent ratings, and aside from FOX's need to fill in a spot, it would be a bad move to bring the show to a third season.

"Rosewood" Season 2's same-day rating last Thursday when it aired its Episode 5 stood at 0.8 in adults 18-49. According to TV By The Numbers by zap2it.com, the show is unlikely to pick up for the rest of the fall.

The publication noted that "Rosewood" was renewed for a sophomore year because FOX has to fill in the schedule left by "American Idol." Given the slump in performance, it remains to be seen if it will be able to complete the entire 22 episodes ordered for Season 2.

"Rosewood" is created by Todd Harthan, with Morris Chestnut as the lead actor. Morris Chestnut plays as Dr. Beaumont Rosewood Jr., a private pathologist who is in demand with law enforcement. Other main cast include Jaina Lee Ortiz as Detective Annalise Villa, Gabrielle Dennis as Beaumont's sister Pippy Rosewood, and Domenick Lombardozzi as Captain Ira Hornstock.

Destiny's Child's LeToya Luckett is one of the recent additions to the cast of "Rosewood" Season 2; she plays the character named Tawnya. As Parent Herald previously learned, Tawnya will be Rosewood's new love interest. The two had a one-on-one conversation in "Rosewood" Season 2 Episode 5 titled "Spirochete and Santeria," when the team is investigating a case of a man who wanted to hire Magic City Lab to do his autopsy when he died (which was the next day).

What do you think about "Rosewood's" cancellation? Do you think it will still manage to pull off something to bring its ratings up for the rest of the season?

"Rosewood" Season 2 airs every Thursday at 8:00 p.m. on FOX.
