The live-action "Beauty and the Beast" starring Emma Watson has Disney fans excited for its March 2017 release. A new photo of the actress as Belle is making the rounds on the internet.
Dressed in a familiar yellow ball gown, Emma Watson as Belle is seen holding a rose in the new "Beauty and the Beast" poster. Up until now, Disney has yet to show Belle in that iconic yellow dress.
But unfortunately, Disney confirmed via Elle that the latest photo isn't an official promotional image. Nevertheless, fans of "Beauty and the Beast" are liking what they see and it's only rousing curiosity and excitement for the movie.
Meanwhile, as "Beauty and the Beast" is expected to win at the box office next year, the animated '90s version it is based on almost didn't happen. According to Mirror, the much-acclaimed animated "Beauty and the Beast" was nearly shelved.
The first draft to "Beauty and the Beast" apparently didn't get the Disney approval. Thus, the studio had to start all over in developing the animation's story.
"The Beast is the guy with the problem. He's got to redeem himself by the movie's end," lyricist Howard Ashman told the people working on the animation back then. Unfortunately, when "Beauty and the Beast" finally came together, Ashman died and did not get to see the outcome of his suggestion. His name, however, remains in the end credits of the '90s "Beauty and the Beast."
"Beauty and the Beast" live-action also features Dan Stevens as the Beast. In a teaser video released in September, viewers got a taste of what the chemistry is like between Emma Watson and Dan Stevens. Watch it below.
