Disney's 'Enchanted' Sequel 'Disenchanted' Release Date & Cast News: Amy Adams Confirms Return, James Marsden & Patrick Dempsey Following?

Now that work on Disney's "Enchanted" sequel "Disenchanted" is set, its star Amy Adams has expressed she will definitely be returning to reprise her role. The actress played Princes Giselle in the movie about a fairy tale animated character becoming human. It's unclear, however, if her prince charmings -- James Marsden and Patrick Dempsey -- are also on board the upcoming film.

Speaking on the TV show "Good Morning Britain," Amy Adams confirmed she's going to be on "Disenchanted." Though she's not aware of the full details as this is still being developed, she told the host of the show that she's looking forward to working on the film.

"Disenchanted" will take place 10 years after "Enchanted" ended. Originally released in 2007, the film was a parody of a Disney princess story. According to Mirror, the sequel was supposed to have happened in 2010 but nothing came out of the development until this year.

In the first movie, Amy Adams as Princess Giselle ended up in modern-day New York where she meets Robert Phillip (Patrick Dempsey). She left her animated kingdom of Andalasia after realizing she cannot marry Prince Edward (James Marsden), who also ended up following her in the real world.

"Disenchanted" will have Princess Giselle assessing her "happily ever after" and what happened to her life after 10 years. This will trigger effects that will affect her animated world and the real world.

Amy Adams has always said that she loved working on "Enchanted" because it brought positive feelings. The "Disenchanted" star also believes that the movie could do very well as a stand-alone.

James Marsden has been wishing for a sequel for a while now. "We all hoped it would happen. I don't understand why they never did it," he told in previous interviews, Daily Mail reports.

Would the actor make time for "Disenchanted" if he's busy with "Westworld" on HBO? Co-star Patrick Dempsey, on the other hand, will begin work in "The Postcard Killings" in February, Deadline reports.
