Paul Walker's untimely death has stirred apprehensions to "Fast and Furious" fans as to how it will affect the production of the hit action film, since the accident happened while the crew and cast were still in the middle of filming "Fast and Furious 7." However, the production was able to pull it off, but this time, fans will surely miss Walker because the next sequel of "Fast and Furious" will go on without Brian O'Conner anymore.
Walker is a major character in the said action series and he is a big loss in the production and for his team who were already like a family. With the car accident, leading to Paul's sudden death, the production was able to finish the movie with the help of Walker's brother Cody and Caleb and with the intervention of computer-generated imagery (CGI), according to Al Aribaya.
Although Paul's character was not killed in the latest film, "Fast and Furious 7" rumors suggest that there will be no longer CGI of Paul's character in the sequel. Executive producer Vin Diesel dedicated the last film to Walker and in the upcoming film, fans should accept that the team will never be complete again because Paul will never be part of "Fast and Furious 8."
"Fast and Furious" franchise producer, Neal H. Mortiz, in an interview with Screenrant, revealed that what makes their movie special is, it is packed with action and the audience can relate to the characters. With this, he continued, "We're lucky that we have a lot of great characters. Unfortunately, we don't have Paul anymore. His character... has moved on. But we feel like there's a lot still to be mined. That's where we'restarting. We're really talking about the characters, where they all sit right now. It's a huge challenge."
Paul's legacy in the hit series is undeniable. The latest film, "Fast and Furious 7," has not only broken the hearts of fans around the world, it also broke records. According to Venture Capital Post, "Fast and Furios 7" is the most successful among all the seven installments of the action film both in ratings and box office earnings.
"Paul used to say that ['Fast & Furious'] 8 was guaranteed and, in some ways, when you're brother guarantees something, you have to make sure it comes to pass," Diesel told MTV News earlier. "So, if fate has it - fate, F8 - then you'll get it. 'Furious 7′ was for Paul; 8 is from Paul."
"Fast and Furios 8 " is already in the works, but there is no confirmation yet as to who between James Wan, director of "Furious 7" and Justin Lin, who directed the previous four films will direct it. The movie will be released on April 14, 2017.
