"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 finale star Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert) may break hearts, but has co-star Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore) offended "Fifty Shades Of Grey" star Jamie Dornan? To say the least, both Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder continue to keep "The Vampire Diaries" fans at the edge of their seats.
In a conversation with Digital Spy, "TVD" executive producer Julie Plec opened up about the repercussions of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 finale without a Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder reunion. Essentially Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder will break hearts, not the least of all would be Julie Plec's if "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 finale reunion does not take place.
Julie Plec assured that an alternate plan is ready if "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 finale reunion of Nina Dobrev is not able to make good on an Ian Somerhalder reunion. However, even Julie Plec did not sound enthusiastic about her alternative ending for Ian Somerhalder without Nina Dobrev.
At the moment, Julie Plec is still going on the possibility that Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder could give Elena Gilbert and Damon Salvatore one more episode together before "The Vampire Diaries" series wraps up for good. The team up of Elena Gilbert and Damon Salvatore were put on hold after "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 when Nina Dobrev resigned from the series.
If Julie Plec is successful Elena Gilbert will wake up from her coma and see Damon Salvatore once more. While "TVD" fans wait for the final word on a Nina Dobrev return, Ian Somerhalder has been making the news as a replacement for "Fifty Shades Of Grey" star Jamie Dornan.
The buzz began when Damon Salvatore was seen in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 made a reference to "Fifty Shades Of Grey." Supposedly Julie Plec and the "Fifty Shades Of Grey" author decided as a lark to have Damon Salvatore talking about the book with Enzo St John ( Michael Malarkey).
A number of fans of "The Vampire Diaries" series took notice and a growing trend of approval began for Ian Somerhalder in "Fifty Shades Of Grey." CinemaBlend reports that Jimmy Kimmel went straight to the source and asked Jamie Dornan on the Ian Somerhalder buzz on "Fifty Shades Of Grey."
Jamie Dornan explained that the remaining sequels of "Fifty Shades Of Grey" have already been filmed but that he wishes Ian Somerhalder well if "The Vampire Diaries" star does go into it. "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 airs on The CW on Friday nights.
