Operator Echo is Ubisoft's latest character reveal for "Operation Red Crow," which is an expansion for "Rainbow Six Siege." Echo is the second operator revealed for Red Crow after Hibana who was revealed last Nov. 7.
"Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" is one of Ubisoft's multiplayer tactical games that feature a heavy emphasis on environmental destruction. The game was designed to mimic real-life crisis situations simulated to give the player that authentic feel of field combat. The game's characters who are tagged as operators are based on the finest tactical units around the world. A player can select, equip and plan an attack on a certain situation, which can be selected through the games "Mode" Menu.
The original game has 11 maps and five different modes to choose from: Hostage mode wherein a player can choose from attacker or defender; Bomb mode, which involves searching and disarming of an explosive device; Terrorist Hunt that features co-op up to five players; Secure the Area mode, which involves securing biohazard materials; Situations mode, which serves as the main tutorial of the game; and Tactical Realism, which focuses on realism as the name implies. This mode came with the "Operation Red Skull" DLC.
"Rainbow Six Siege" was nominated for Best of Show, Best PC Game, Best Action Game, and Best Multiplayer Game during the Game Critics Award at E3 2015. Out of all the nominations, the game bagged the Best PC game award.
Ubisoft announced the "Operation Red Crow" three days ago as part of "Rainbow Six Siege's" Season 4 Pro league announcement. The expansion is said to add two new operators from the Japanese Special Assault Team who with today's reveal is now complete. The two operators "Hibana" who's the attacking operator and "Echo" as the defender.
The expansion will also include a free Map, the "SkyScraper." The official reveal of the entire expansion will take place this coming November 12-13 2016 on Rainbow Six's official Twitch Channel, based on the Red Crow website.
