‘Sister Wives’ Season 8 Spoilers & Updates: Kody Brown Going Broke? Will A Fifth Wife Solve His Financial Woes?

Kody Brown, star and patriarch of the "Sister Wives" family is reportedly facing grave financial woes. Allegedly, the TLC reality show isn't enough to cover the expenses of his ever-growing family of four wives and 22 children. The solution? Kody is said to be thinking about adding a fifth wife to solve his money crisis.

According to Life & Style Magazine, the Brown family is facing a six-figure debt. The debt was mostly accumulated when Dayton, fourth wife Robyn's son, encountered a "horrific ATV accident" which needed an extensive surgery.

Apparently, the insurance coverage wasn't enough, and a hefty medical bill was left unpaid according to a source close to the family. Moreover, Kody's income is solely based on "Sister Wives" and the reality show may not be enough to keep up. He believes that by adding more wives to the show, "Sister Wives" will be more interesting and more sponsors will come in.

A previous report also by Life & Style backs up this claim, as TLC is said to be threatening to cancel "Sister Wives" altogether amid low ratings. However, fans of the reality show will still see the entire Brown family as "Sister Wives" Season 8 is confirmed to premiere late this month.

But how will Kody's four wives Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn take the idea of a fifth wife? The four sister wives are said to be against the idea. Three of them have allegedly threatened Kody that they will leave the show if he adds another wife in the family.

However, the Brown family still seems to be united as of now. Second wife Janelle even tweeted a photo of them drawing names for Christmas activities earlier this month.

How will Kody solve his financial crisis? Will we see another wife in the Brown family? Find out when "Sister Wives" Season 8 premieres on Nov. 27 at TLC.
