The Independent reports that "Westworld Season 2" will bring 10 new episodes on hosts and humans in the pricey and dicey amusement park. The Hollywood Reporter cites that HBO's Casey Bloys revealed that the scope of the series production could affect "Westworld Season 2" release date.
According to Casey Bloys, HBO could drop "Westworld Season 2" as early as fall 2017. Otherwise, "Westworld Season 2" will premiere on HBO in 2018.
"Westworld Season 1" has mostly been about the "awakening" of sorts of hosts. For the most part hosts had been somewhat docile, allowing humans to do anything they wanted in Westworld.
However Bernard Lowe (Jeffrey Wright) explained in "Westworld Season 1" Episode 7, "Trompe L'Oeil, that the loop with which the "Westworld" hosts are programmed create variation, hence the "awakening." At the same time, humans are discovering the growing danger that hosts pose upon them in Westworld.
Meanwhile, "Westworld Season 1" oddity Man In Black seems to be the anti-thesis of Dolores' new boyfriend William. Collider asks if perhaps the Man In Black is a host just like Dolores Abernathy and Maeve Millay, who are looking for the truth in their existence.
"Westworld" theories cited on Heavy points out that the HBO series separates the Man In Black and William in two timelines. The media outlet points to the close similarity of the first meeting between Dolores Abernathy and the Man In Black and between the "Westworld" girl-next-door and William.
Another case in point is how the "Westworld" logo when William was first introduced seems older than the theme park's logo in the timeline of the Man In Black. This "Westworld" theory suggests that the awakening of Dolores Abernathy may have begun when the Man In Black dragged her into the barn in Episode 1, "The Original."
In that instance the Man In Black may have used trigger words to bring up the memory between Dolores Abernathy and William. Therefrom, following the prompting of the Man In Black, the scenes between Dolores Abernathy and William may be flashbacks.
"Westworld Season 1" Episode 8, "Trace Decay" will air on Nov 20 on HBO. Do you subscribe to this "Westworld" theory about the Man In Black?
