Marvel is back for TV series on ABC with the "Inhumans." The comic book studio that owns the rights is now teaming up with ABC aside from going ahead for the feature film. It is going to be an eight-episode season initially with action-filled drama premiering in 2017 during the fall.
September 2017 is the timeframe for "Inhumans" to grace Imax theaters for at least a couple of weeks. Then, it will be followed by the said TV series. The subsequent stories on TV will be better for streaming since this Marvel project has reached the big screen already for the general public to watch. Naturally, it can generally build up with its viewership, according to Hollywood Reporter.
The "Inhumans" TV series has been decided upon as an option from the earlier announced 3-phase movie project in 2014 that has faced many challenges. Aside from insufficient production to complete each phase, it has been marred with delays. "Agent Carter" that did not make it to the movies will be included in the TV series.
With this development, however, we can also expect that "Inhumans" won't be on the big screens at least for the time being. There will be no chance to push through with the movies in phases with "Inhumans" as the fourth phase. The characters that were launched in the mid-a960s will be safe from over-exposure consisting of Black Bolt, queen Medusa, Karnak, Crystal, Gorgon, Lockjaw the dog, and Triton.
We can only expect the "Inhumans" population increase now despite many competitions because the Royal Family's never been on TV stories can now be shown for the distinct characters to shine even better granting their movie and TV viewerships.
It is true that Marvel has very selective fan base or a niche market - but since they have garnered an increasing membership base from the movies, the TV series can only expand on that when the premieres already start, Cinema Blend explained.
