"Invasion," the biggest and most awaited DC hero crossover in 2016 will feature National City's "Supergirl", Star City's "Arrow", Central City's "The Flash", and city-hopping and time travelling crew from "The Legends of Tomorrow."
The CW's three-part crossover episode will include characters from the four different series, such as Oliver Queen from "Arrow," Barry Allen from "The Flash," Kara Zor-El from "Supergirl" and Atom and Sarah Lance from the "Legends."
The heroes will be fighting the alien species The Dominators in the three-part episode. "Invasion" is based on the DC 1980's crossover comic book series with the same title.
It is about The Dominators, an alien race that crossed paths with the Superheroes. They planned to wreak havoc and invade Earth for revenge. This time, the aliens will be fighting against today's Superheroes such as Oliver Queen, Barry Allen, Kara Zor-El and the "Legends" in what will be this year's most memorable superhero crossover event ever.
In the previous seasons, "Arrow" and "The Flash" have crossed their paths many times before, fought crimes in between their cities and even developed friendship as the series have progressed. As with the "Legends," they were already major characters in "Arrow" such as the Atom, White Canary, Firestorm and Captain Cold. Therefore, they needed no introductions with each other.
Supergirl on the other hand, only met Flash and will be introduced to the others in the upcoming three-part "Invasion" crossover episodes.
In an article from the TVline, Stephen Amell, who portrayed Oliver Queen in "Arrow" hinted that Slade Wilson a.k.a. Deathstroke will be part of the upcoming crossover. Comicbook added that Deathstroke will make an appearance in "Invasion."
The Arrow-Invasion crossover episode will also mark the series' 100th episode and will possibly have (SPOILER ALERT!) a death with one of its major characters. After Laurel Lance's death last season, who will be leaving the show next?
"Invasion" has three crossover episodes, with a teaser introduction in the last part of "Supergirl's" Season 2 Episode 8 entitled "Medusa" on Nov. 28. The first part of the crossover will officially start on Nov. 29 in Season 3 Episode 8 of "The Flash" and Season 5 Episode 8 of "Arrow."
It will be concluded in the Season 2 Episode 7 of "Legends of Tomorrow" on Dec. 1. Are you excited for this crossover? For the meantime, watch the teaser below:
