Fans have been anxiously waiting for Hiromu Arakawa's manga based live-action movie "Fullmetal Alchemist" since its announcement early this year. Just recently, Warner Bros. Japan released "FMA's" first movie teaser trailer featuring Hey! Say! JUMP star Ryosuke Yamada as Ed and his little brother Al in full CG.
"Fullmetal Alchemist" is deemed to be one of the best television anime series from Japan garnering 8.7/10 in IMDb's ratings. "Fullmetal Alchemist's" tragic plot and unique story has gained itself fans all over the world who share the same sympathy for family ties, brotherhood and friendships mixed in heartbreaking conspiracies.
Fret not, "Fullmetal Alchemist" is not all tear-jerker and misery but it also brings determination to its main play. Brothers, Edward and Alphonse, are in a quest as State Alchemists to find a powerful item known as the Philosopher's Stone so they can bring back their bodies.
"FMA's" teaser trailer starts off by showing us transmutation circles drawn on the floor, where alchemy then transforms the ordinary items placed inside it into something else. According to ComicBook, "Fullmetal Alchemist" finished filming last year in Italy as you can see familiar architecture which suitably depicts scenes from the TV anime series.
"Fullmetal Alchemist's" trailer also includes a touching clip where we see Edward (Ryosuke Yamada) and Alphonse. As Ed (Ryosuke Yamada) rests his head on his little brother's full armored torso, he promises him that he will get their bodies back.
"Fullmetal Alchemist's" side characters have also been casted as reported in AnimeNewsNetwork. Winry Rockbell is played by Tsubasa Honda while Colonel Roy Mustang is portrayed by Dean Fujioka.
Other cast members include: Fumiyo Kohinata as General Hakuro, Ryuta Sato as Maes Hughes, Misako Renbutsu as Riza Hawkeye, Natsuna as Maria Ross, and Natsuki Harada as Gracia Hughes.
Yo Oizumi is also playing as Shou Tucker, the mad scientist who left fans' hearts broken for the experiments he inflicted on his wife and daughter. Then we also have Jun Kunimura as Doctor Marco and the gang of Homunculus, Yasuko Matsuyuki as Lust, Kanata Hongou as Envy and Shinji Uchiyama as Gluttony.
The "Fullmetal Alchemist" film is directed by Fumihiko Sori, who also directed the live-action movie "Ping Pong". "FMA" will start airing in Japan in winter of 2017.
