Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford Affair: 'Star Wars' Actress Says ‘It's Been 40 Years’ Since Romance, Actor Reacts

It appears that the "Star Wars" actress doesn't have a single foreboding on making her secret affair with Harrison Ford publicized. Carrie Fisher says "it's been 40 years," and she feels that her intimate relationship with Ford back in 1976 holds no reason to remain a secret anymore.

During an interview with PEOPLE, the 60-year-old actress and author revealed that the story of her romance with Ford is in her new book, "The Princess Diarist." The insider was also told that the Carrie Fisher - Harrison Ford relationship does not involve a maelstrom of controversy.

As per MSN Entertainment, Ford, who was back then a 33-year-old married man with two children, only had a single comment about the subject. It took a while for the actor, who's now 74, to finally respond. The insider noted that Ford's reaction was only to utter the word, "Lawyer!" He's known for being a very private person, so the affair is not merely acknowledged.

Fisher, who played Princess Leia in "Star Wars," was only 19 years old when she and Ford took their romance outside the movie screen. The actor was her on-screen partner in the blockbuster franchise and played as Han Solo.

Fisher reportedly contacted Ford and offered him an early manuscript of the "The Princess Diarist." Although the "Star Wars" actress is yet to receive Ford's feedback, she's not planning to hold back on adding their romantic memories to her book.

The actress also pointed out that the disclosure of her affair with Ford has no intentions to embarrass the actor nor his family. Fisher also admits that she anticipates that Ford's family will not be excited about the book. On a positive note, she also believes that it will not deeply affect anyone.

Fisher's "The Princess Diarist" memoir will be out in bookstores this November 22, 2016.
