Players of the PS4 VR exclusive game "RIGS Mechanized Combat League" will have a treat next month. Developers announced a December update that promises to additional Rigs and a new arena in the game.
According to a PlayStation blog, the "RIGS Mechanized Combat League" update will introduce a new APX Rigs, a Zurich arena, and additional items for customization. Guerrilla Games, the game developers of "RIGS," also announced a new Weekly Trials series in the update.
Jeroen Roding, the Community Manager of Guerilla Games, said in the blog post that the game received a lot of positive responses from gamers as well as helpful suggestions on how to improve the game. Developers have been busy finding ways to better the gaming experience in "RIGS Mechanized Combat League" through post-launch support and game updates.
Uploadvr reported that the new APX Rigs will be faster and more agile than the chassis type, but will have lower armor rating than the chassis type to avoid unfair advantage over certain Rigs type. Developers believe that the more agile APX Rigs will be a favorite for seasoned players once the "RIGS Mechanized Combat League" update arrives.
The Zurich arena will be the first European arena in the 'RIGS' global Rigs circuit and will offer a balance layout of open area for the Tempest class and tunnels for hunter class advantage. They didn't mention, however, how the APX rigs will fair in the new arena.
"RIGS Mechanized Combat League" players will be able to see and test out the Zurich arena before the game update at PlayStation Experience this year in California.
As for the Weekly Trial series, Guerilla Games will present "RIGS Mechanized Combat League" players with a series of trials that they can choose to compete in every week. If the player successfully completes the trial, they will be rewarded with in-game credits, fame, and exclusive customization items.
Lastly, "RIGS Mechanized Combat League" players will be able to buy customization items for their RIGS and victory celebrations for their pilots in the customization store. So far, in-game currency is used to purchase in the customization store: Developers have not announced the use of micro-transactions for the customization store yet.
