Conor McGregor Vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr.: Why The WBO Champ Is Rejecting The UFC Star's $100 Million Challenge

Things are heating up profusely between UFC champ Conor "The Notorious" McGregor and boxing superstar Floyd "Money" Mayweather. After the two-division MMA champion challenged the former WBO welterweight titleholder for $100 million under boxing terms, "The Money Team" businessman is likely to botch the fighter's invitation to prevent jeopardizing his undefeated career.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is not just any fighter--he is well-minded money-making machine just like what he likes claiming to be. USA Today got a word from the former WBO welterweight titleholder after the Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao vs Jessie Vargas fight in Las Vegas weeks ago and for Floyd Mayweather Jr., he likes to play it safe unlike other boxing professionals.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. said that he does not plan on doing a rematch against Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao nor other contenders. While he did not blatantly specify who these others are, it's safe to say that "Money" won't be accepting Conor McGregor's challenge, at least for now.

The boxing champion reasoned that he is wealthy enough, he does not need to make money out of any future matches anymore. Floyd Mayweather explained that he has made $300 million against his previous bout with Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao.

"I'm happy with my position. Once again, the money don't make me; I make money. I'm well off," Floyd Mayweather said. "I make smart moves, and like I said before, I'm happy with where my career has went."

MMA Fighting reports that when Conor McGregor defeated Eddie Alvarez in UFC last Saturday, Floyd Mayweather Jr. was asked of his opinion regarding "The Notorious." The former WBO titleholder sacked the UFC superstar's success and called him an ant while comparing himself to an elephant.

Floyd Mayweather's glib tongue sparked a war of words against Conor McGregor and dared him to say it in his face. During a night out at New York City, TMZ spotted Conor McGregor blasting the boxing champ then again, saying that he is "afraid of a real fight."
