‘The Vampire Diaries' Season 8, Episode 5 Recap: Stefan Decides To Put Damon Down To Let Him Live?

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, episode 5 features Salvatore drama as Stephan allows his humanity-less brother Damon to live. The latest TVD episodes proves how Stephan remain true to his promise to never give up on his brother Damon no matter what.

Damon has just made the worse among all of his bad decisions in the history of "The Vampire Diaries." In the latest TVD episode, Matt (Zach Roerig) finds the lifeless body of his wolf best friend Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino) in the middle of the road. International Business Times reported how Lockwood was killed and abandoned by Damon.

"The Vampire Diaries" episode entitled "Coming Home Was A Mistake" shows how his dearest friends bid Tyler Lockwood goodbye as they gather to entomb his remains in the forest. The forest, where all other "The Vampire Diaries" dead characters are concealed and forgotten, has now more dead bodies than trees in it, as per TV Line.

The younger Salvatore is now forced to make a tough decision. Stephan now sees his brother Damon circling down the drain of destruction. Determine to keep his promise of never giving up on his brother, Stephan makes a decision that will ultimately change his relationship with his brother.

Stephen's terrifying decision was to put his brother Damon down. Stephen comes to a conclusion that the only way to stop and redeem his brother from the control and manipulation of the Siren is to send Damon back to the coffin.

Damon appears in Tyler's funeral with four more graves dug, each of which he prepared to burry Caroline, Stephen, Alaric and Matt. Still under the siren's spell, Damon feeds Matt his blood and teases that he will become a vampire too.

With the help of Caroline, Stephan finally reaches to a decision. Together, they captured Damon, chained him and kept him in a coffin. What would be the result of Stephan's actions?
