"Stranger Things" Season 2, from Netflix with creators Ross and Matt Duffer, is in production with fan favorite Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) anticipated to make way for a new lead character. While Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo) and Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin) continue as main characters, a new lead is anticipated alongside.
The Daily Mail reports initial photos on "Stranger Things 2" set is conspicuously missing Eleven. The foursome of Will Byers, Mike Wheeler, Dustin Henderson and Lucas Sinclair were seen in the "Stranger Things" leak with Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer), Jonathan Byers (Charlie Heaton), Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) and Carol (Chelsea Talmadge).
Plot of the Netflix series widening in scope, and a concern is if Eleven is on her way out. Is "Stranger Things" Season 2 bringing Eleven back as a bridge?
Matt and Ross Duffer are projecting five seasons for "Stranger Things," but is Eleven going soon? More importantly will "Stranger Things" make as much impact without Eleven?
As TVLine reports, the Netflix series is introducing strange new characters Max (Sadie Sink, "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt") and Billy (Dacre Montgomery, "Power Rangers). Collider reports that "Stranger Things" director Shawn Levy projects that fans of the Netflix series will have new favorites come Season 2.
This is not impossible given how Barb and Eleven each took fans hostage in "Stranger Things" Season 1. With "Stranger Things" Season 1 premiere significantly named after Max ("Madmax"), is Eleven in danger of being replaced?
Uproar would definitely build up from Eleven fans, who rallied to confirm that Millie Bobby Brown is returning for Season 2. Eleven may be given lesser appearances in "Stranger Things" Season 2. Still Eleven could just as likely continue as a key character in all five seasons by the Duffer brothers.
Netflix is set to release "Stranger Things" Season 2 Episode 1, "Madmax," –and likely without Eleven – in July 2017. Share your favorite "Stranger Things" and Eleven theory in the comment box below!
