‘Vikings’ Season 5 Air Date, News, Latest Updates, Cast: Ragnar Lothbrok Commits Suicide?

"Vikings Season 5" star Travis Fimmel as Ragnar Lothbrok will exit the History series more tragically than expected if suicide tease from the official trailer speaks true. Although "Vikings Season 4" Part 2 has fans worried that Ragnar Lothbrok will leave the throne ready for Ivar The Boneless (Alex Hogh Andersen) from death in the hands of King Aelle (Ivan Kaye), this may not be the case.

History posed the painful question of whether or not Ragnar Lothbrok will die in "Vikings Season 4" Part 2. The History tease for "Vikings Season 4" showed a peaceful plain with a big, branched tree in it.

Ragnar Lothbrok had been riding his horse across the plain and came to survey the tree. The "Vikings Season 4" Part 2 tease ended with Ragnar Lothbrok apparently hanging himself from the tree.

The "Vikings Season 4" Part 2 tease seemed dreamlike and may be a vision from Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard) about Ragnar Lothbrok. The sight of Ragnar Lothbrok committing suicide may be symbolic and portends dangers coming not just in Season 4 but also in "Vikings Season 5."

Parent Herald cites report that "Vikings" creator Michael Hirst revealed that Ragnar Lothbrok has more stories to tell in Season 4. In a separate story, Parent Herald also cites that Travis Fimmel revealed filming scenes for "Vikings Season 5."

Which means that highly likely Travis Fimmel is staying put and Ragnar Lothbrok is not kicking his heels in "Vikings Season 4" Part 2. Fans of the History series will get to witness Ragnar Lothbrok rebuild his relationship with his sons Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig), Ivar, Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith), Sigurd (David Lindström) and Hvitserk (Marco Islo).

"Vikings Season 4" Part 2 will air on History on Nov 30 with firm date for Season 5 pending. How do you think the History series will transition from Ragnar Lothbrok leadership onto that of Ivar The Boneless in "Vikings Season 5?"
