"Super Mario Run" is arriving on iOS devices in December and we have gathered some information to excite fans before the game arrives. Here are "Super Mario Run's" features and modes that will surely bring 90's nostalgia to iOS device owners.
"Super Mario Run" is suggested to be a running game similar to 2011 hit mobile app "Temple Run." It is expected to have three modes namely World Tour, Toad Rally and Kingdom Builder, Bustle reported.
Its World Tour requires players to tap the screen to make Mario jump and collect coins as he runs at the right side of the screen. The World Tour mode is basically a traditional "Super Mario" game-play wherein Mario will need to jump on toadstools and hit mystery boxes to get coins n "Super Mario Run."
The Toad Rally mode, on the other hand, is different from the usual Super Mario game as it is a multiplayer mode where players can challenge their friends. Toad Rally is "Super Mario Run's" battle mode that allows players to beat their friend's high score by collecting coins.
In Toad Rally mode, players can also gather more points when they perform extra or daring moves. There is also a screen wherein "Super Mario Run" players can see the ghost of their opponent's Mario in order for them to compare their skills with their friends.
The last mode called Kingdom Builder is where "Super Mario Run" players can creatively design their own Mario kingdom. Coins collected from Toad Rally battles are important here as players will need more coins to buy buildings and decoration for their kingdoms.
Meanwhile, when it comes to game features, the longer players taps on their screen, the higher Mario can jump on "Super Mario Run." "Super Mario" creator Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that they will also be adding some new feature such as time movements and changing of direction in the game.
"Super Mario Run" is slated to ship on Dec. 15 on iOS though no launch date has been announced its Android availability. The game will be available as a free download but players who prefer a full game version could pay a single in-app purchase of $9.99 according to Techworm.
