'The Winds of Winter' Release Date & Major Spoilers: Sixth 'ASOIAF' Book Still 2 Years Away, Explained! Targaryens And Starks Reunite?

George RR Martin's 'The Winds of Winter' will likely not be ready until 2018. Meanwhile, there are rumors that the Starks and Targaryens may reunite in the sixth book of "A Song of Ice and Fire."

Every "ASOIAF" fan is all eyes on GRRM's announcement as to when "The Winds of Winter" will be released. Unfortunately, at the time, the "TWOW" scribe has not given any clue or confirmation about the reports or rumors concerning the book's release date.

Per JBH News, "The Winds of Winter" is still two years away. There are speculations that it might be out in 2017 but chances are high that the sixth "ASOIAF" book will not be ready until 2018. George RR Martin is increasing the number of pages in each book and it is expected that "TWOW" will have the most number of pages in the novel series when it is out.

Looking back at the "ASOIAF" timeline and number of pages, the first book "A Game of Thrones" was released with 704 pages in 1996. Meanwhile, the fifth book, "A Dance with Dragons" came out with 1024 pages in 2011. GRRM is expected to work longer for "The Winds of Winter" if it has more pages. Thus, the 2018 release date for "TWOW" is imminent.

Meanwhile, the Starks and Targaryens are in the opposite ends of the spectrum in the "ASOIAF" series. Targaryens are Fire while Starks are Ice. One family can hatch dragons, the other endowed with skills of controlling animals. Thus, a Stark-Targaryen reunion is very powerful, should it happen in "The Winds of Winter."

There are rumors that the White Walkers are created to prevent the union of these two powerful families, International Business Times reported. However, with the speculations suggesting that the Wall will collapse in "The Winds of Winter," chances are high that the Targaryens and Starks will work with each other against the White Walkers in the next "ASOIAF" book.

Will Starks and Targaryens recognize the importance of each other in the next "ASOIAF" book? Is GRRM reuniting the two bloodlines in "The Winds of Winter?" Do you agree that "TWOW" will still take two years? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
