"Final Fantasy 15" is the highly anticipated installment of the "Final Fantasy" franchise. "Final Fantasy XV" has been in development for ten years and with its upcoming release, Square Enix teases fans with the official "FFXV" trailer.
"Final Fantasy XV" Trailer
Square Enix released the official "Final Fantasy 15" trailer and we're breaking down everything on it. The trailer provides the main "FFXV" story, "FFXV" settings, and "FFXV" characters. A little bit of the "Final Fantasy XV" gameplay was also shown in the trailer along with the "Final Fantasy 15" transportation options.
"Final Fantasy XV" is set on the world of Eos where six kingdoms rule it. The six kingdoms are Lucis, Nilfheim, Tenebrae, Accordo, Solheim, and Duscae. Each kingdom nations possesses a crystal that will allow them to utilize magic but most of the crystals were destroyed during turbulent times in Eos. The only remaining crystal resides in the kingdom of Lucis.
With the remaining crystal on their hands, the kingdom of Lucis became the most advanced and powerful kingdom nation of all of Eos but has heavily relied on the magic brought forth from the crystal. Other nations in Eos has development though at a slower rate compared to Lucis. One of the kingdom nations, Nilfheim has made great advancements in technology and military warfare. With the domination of Eos on its site, Nilfheim successful invades the other five kingdom nations even the powerful kingdom of Lucis.
"Final Fantasy XV" starts from here. You play Noctis, the crown prince of Lucis. After your father, the king of Lucis, was found dead, and have your kingdom nation invaded by Nilfheim, you and your companions go on a quest. The quest is for Noctis to find a way to defeat the Nilfheim kingdom nation to get back your home. The quest will also help Noctis discover his true identity as one does in a quest.
"Final Fantasy XV" Characters
"FFXV" main character is Noctis. Along with Noctis, Luna, Prompto, Gladiolus, and Ignis join him in his quest to get back Lucis and the rest of the kingdom nations from the clutches of Nilfheim.
"FFXV" Noctis Lucis Caelum is the crown prince of Lucis. He is described as an easy going person that finds the restrictions of royalty stifling. Noctis is also characterized as someone with a strong passion for helping others. As a member of the Royal Family of Lucis, Noctis possesses the ability to summon astral weapons from thin air.
"FFXV" Lunafreya Nox Fleuret is the fiancée of Noctis. She is the former princess of Tenebrae and is one of the Oracles of Tenebrae. Luna being an oracle is important as oracles are held with special importance on Eos as they ward off the Plague of Star which is a supernatural threat that could potentially destroy the world.
"FFXV" Prompto Argentum is the best friend of Noctis. He does not come from an influential family in Lucis. He is unskilled in many things but has a mastery and understanding of firearms makes him a valuable team member.
"FFXV" Gladiolus Amicitia is the oldest in Noctis' group and the prince's bodyguard. Gladiolus comes from a family that has always protected the royal family of Lucis. He has a massive built and his strong power deals massive damage to enemies. He also contributes to the team by scavenging for items.
"FFXV" Ignis Scientia is Noctis' Royal Advisor. He was raised along Noctis and learned all manner of tactics and strategy planning. He is also the team's cook which helps Noctis' team regain health points.
"Final Fantasy XV" Gameplay
"Final Fantasy XV" gameplay is real-time combat. Each character in the player's team has a unique set of weapons and skills. The skills on the player's team can be chained to achieve greater damage on the enemies.
"Final Fantasy XV" gameplay also heavily relies on magic as all other "Final Fantasy" games in the franchise. Players can use Astrals of which you can summon characters that will deal a massive amount of damage on your enemies.
"Final Fantasy XV" also emphasizes on skills like parrying, countering, and dodging enemy attacks. "FFXV" also has the option for players to enable traditional battle format called the Wait Mode.
Besides the Wait Mode, "Final Fantasy 15" also has the Active Time Battle System where players choose your action, may it be an attack, magic, heal, etc.) and the player's chosen target for the action. This is reminiscent of other "Final Fantasy" games in the franchise.
"FFXV" Noctis also has the ability to switch between four different kinds of weapons. Players can assign the weapons to each of the directional buttons on the game controller.
"Final Fantasy XV Transportation"
In "Final Fantasy 15", the Regalia is the main mode of transportation. The "FFXV" Regalia is a luxurious looking car that in some point of the game, will be able to fly. Boats for water traversal and Chocobos for when the Regalia could not reach the designated place. But most of the time, players have to walk around "Final Fantasy XV".
