Numerous speculations regarding updates on the release date of "Grand Theft Auto 6" have surfaced, including one rumor suggesting that "GTA 6" will be released in 2018. However, the latest rumors with regards to the forthcoming game put forward that it will not even be announced until 2020. Furthermore, it is alleged that the game will be one of the first titles to be available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Two.
With Rockstar Games still exerting effort into improving "GTA 5," and with the announcement of "Red Dead Redemption 2," it is most likely that the video game company currently has its hands full. Nevertheless, "GTA 6" is speculated to already be in the works, and the rumored cause for its delay is Rockstar's attempt to incorporate Virtual Reality technology into the game which requires a sizable budget.
Meanwhile, other speculations for the game suggest that it will be one of the first games to be released for the next generation consoles namely the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Two, as reported by Neurogadget. Both consoles are also expected to be available in 2020.
"Grand Theft Auto 5" cost Rockstar Games $250 million in development, and it generated $800 million in sales in the first day of release alone. If Rockstar's supposed plan to include VR technology into "GTA 6" is true, then it is quite likely that they will exceed the $250 million budget for the previous game. According to Gamenguide, despite the expected multi-million budget for "GTA 6," the game could still exceed its predecessor's $800 million in sales within the first 24 hours.
In the meantime, it is certain that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be available in 2017, which means that Rockstar is busy working on two grand scale titles. Do you think "GTA 6" will not be announced until 2020?
