‘Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life’ Season 2 Teased: What’s Next For Lorelai & Rory After Cliffhanger?

The "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" revival proved to be another success for Netflix. Even before it premiered, the four-part series generated enough buzz that made a second season possible.

The final episode of "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" ended with a cliffhanger, specifically with four words exchanged between Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory (Alexis Bledel). In the scene, Rory told her mother that she's pregnant, though the identity of the baby's father wasn't revealed.

This cliffhanger sparked flames about a second revival season and "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" creator and producer Amy Sherman-Palladino addressed the possibility in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter. She said that they "had a very specific journey" in their minds and they feel like they "fulfilled" that journey in the revival's finale.

Sherman-Palladino continued, "And the whole thought about, is there more, is there more, is there more - this has to go out into the universe now. We've got to put this to bed. And then whatever happens, happens."

Scott Patterson, who portrays Luke on "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life," is onboard a possible Season 2. The actor told THR that "it'd be nice" to do another revival "every year" or "maybe every two years" because "it was fun" and "easy to do."

There are speculations that Rory is pregnant with Logan's (Matt Czuchry) child. If this were true, there's a huge chance that Logan won't be around to raise his son or daughter together with Rory, much like what happened with Lorelai and Rory's father, Christopher (David Sutcliffe).

Logan being the father is highly plausible, given that Sherman-Palladino previously said that Logan is Rory's Christopher. Both men are charming, smart, but not quite dependable. Logan is also engaged with a French heiress and this complicates parenting his child with Rory.

Other potential candidates as the father of Rory's baby are her boyfriend Paul (Jack Carpenter) and Jess (Milo Ventimiglia), Screen Rant wrote. Even if it's not Jess, it's possible that he's still going to be a part of Rory's romantic future because of his single status.

The paternity of Rory's baby isn't the only unanswered question left behind by "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life." Will Rory keep the baby and raise it as a single mother like Lorelai? Will Lorelai and Luke end up raising Rory's baby after discussing having a child of their own? How will Logan react to Rory's pregnancy? These questions would be answered in Season 2 if it pushes through.
