“The Mummy” film series started since 2012, and now, Tom Cruise is bringing the film back to the big screen. The resounding question now is, what is the difference between the new film from its predecessors.
The synopsis tells the story of the awakened ancient princess in the modern world, portrayed by Sofia Boutella from the “Kingsman.” She will terrorize human beings together with other gods and monsters, Cinema Blend reports.
Well, obviously, others may think that Tom Cruise, who portrays Nick Morton, isn’t the only thing that makes the film different. First stop, it has a Marvel-like universe, which most films have been after right now.
So, Brenda Fraser won’t be part of the film. Instead, Tom Cruise will play the lead role in stopping “The Mummy” from spreading terror in the sands Middles East to the streets of London. However, this isn’t the only difference that the movie stands out.
First stop, as stated there will be monsters and will eventually construct an overarching story about the classic Hollywood monsters in the future. It’s said that some of these monsters may include the Invisible Man and even van Helsing.
Some fans may ask, is “The Mummy” 2017 reboot the right film to start and create this type of universe? Well, fans and even Warner Bros. will have to find out soon. The ambitious DC Extended Universe isn’t even going well, but there really isn’t any harm in hoping that his will eventually succeed.
It can be recalled that this isn’t the first time a crossover was made by Universal. In 1943, a crossover titled “Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man” was released, too, but they weren’t that successful, The Verge reports.
Will Universal succeed in this Marvel-like universe for their monsters? Fans will soon to find out as “The Mummy” 2017 reboot will hit the theaters on June 9, 2017.
