'Girl Meets World' Moving! Season 3 To Return With Early Time Schedule As Cancellation Talks Get Louder

"Girl Meets World" Season 3 on the Disney Channel is moving. The popular teen series will be airing three more episodes by January 2017 in an earlier time schedule.

When "Girl Meets World" Season 3 returns beginning Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, it will be airing in the 6:00 p.m. time slot, until the finale episode on Jan. 20. Nick and More confirmed the time changes and cited that the Disney Channel is revamping the schedule to see if the ratings will pick up.

The show has allegedly gotten a drop in viewership, which has triggered speculations it will be cancelled after this season. Disney, however, has not made any official announcements about the show's fate even as work on "Girl Meets World" Season 3 has wrapped up, according to TV Line.

The writers of "Girl Meets World" have enjoined its followers on Twitter to watch the show's remaining Season 3 episodes. The special episode on Jan. 6, entitled "World Meets Girl," is dubbed as an "interactive" offering where questions fielded from fans will be answered by the cast and crew, TV Maze reports.

Because of the format of the special, viewers of "Girl Meets World" believe that the show's cancellation is indeed happening. They think that this was done for the cast and crew to properly say goodbye to their followers. Curiously, the finale episode of the third season is entitled "Girl Meets Goodbye," fueling more talks regarding the cancellation.

With the show still in the bubble, "Girl Meets World" fans have launched petitions urging Disney not to cancel the series. Instead, fans are hoping that the show will move to a new home via Freeform, according to one petition.
