‘Dota 2’s‘ Massive 7.0 Update, Makes A Sequel Unnecessary

"Dota 2's" massive 7.0 update went live today and the details are amazing. The update overhauled "Dota 2's" overall looks and gameplay.

"Dota 2's" 7.0 update called "The New Journey" looks like a remastered or relaunch version of the game. The update is composed of a new hero, HUD, pre-game, gameplay, community authored bots, remodeled heroes, and showcase view.

"Dota 2's" new hero the Monkey King is described is classified under the melee, carry, escape, and disabler. The Monkey King has six abilities which he can perform, the "Tree Dance" wherein he leaps along the treetops looking for opportunities to attack and provides primal sprint ability, "Boundless Strike" wherein he enlarges his staff and slams it against the ground to stun his enemies, "Primal Spring" initialized from "Tree Dance", Jingu Mastery which is a charge based attack, Mischief which is a deceptive form of ability that involves mimic, and Wukong's Command wherein he can summon an army of monkey soldiers to his advantage. A comic is also available in Dota 2's website that can be downloaded. A new terrain also comes with the Monkey King for $12.99.

Valve also included the "Great Sage's Reckoning" which is an arcana item for "Dota 2's" new hero. The Arcana item will enable the player to relive three epic trials for the Monkey King featuring four dynamic styles that change depending on the level of his Ultimate ability, altered voice effects to match each journey, special animations and much more. The Arcana bundle can be purchased at the "Dota 2" website for $34.99 and $63.48 at the Steam Market.

The new HUD features increased visibility and increased options which feature a new shop and courier controls, new top bar and mini map, and new hero control console.

The new Pre-Game feature called Pick Phase and Strategy Phase wherein the player can prepare for the next battle while the game loads in the background. The New Gameplay features changes in Hero Leveling, Backpack, Map changes, Illusions, Hero Changes and much more.

From the looks of the new Dota 2, it is fair to say that Valve has really done an amazing job in making "Dota 2" even better. Instead of introducing a sequel Valve ingeniously improved their existing game and made it better than before.
