EA and DICE has teased fans of the WWI shooter game “Battlefield 1.” They recently unveiled the inclusion of a French Army in the first DLC, “They Shall Not Pass.”
In the official Battlefield Twitter page, an image was posted depicting the soon-to-be-played French Army. The concept art describes what seems to be a heated shootout in a bunker with French flags hanging on the walls. The post is captioned: “Soyez prêts.” This means “Be ready.”
GameSpot reported that DLC will introduce 2 new playable armies, inclusive of France and the Russian Empire, according to the official website for "Battlefield 1." The expansion will arrive in March 2017, the game's first paid one. While the French army has been teased, the Russian Empire will soon be added in a future DLC pack and is yet to have a release date, per Express UK.
Meanwhile, GamesRadar detailed that assuming all 16 maps for the Premium Pass of "Battlefield 1" are distributed evenly, then "They Shall Not Pass" will add 4 new battlefields by March 2017. The setting would most likely be in the Battle of Verdun. This is where the famous French general Robert Nivelle spoke the words which were the inspiration of the game's slogan.
"Battlefield 1" players can get access to the "They Shall Not Pass" DLC and other "Battlefield 1" DLC via the game's $50 season pass. This also allows players to play new maps 2 weeks ahead the official launch for regular player members.
A recent update was received by "Battlefield 1," "Giant's Shadow" map. It was launched this week for free for players who owned a season pass or the Early Enlister Edition. For everyone else, the map will be available on Dec. 20.
