It seems like 2017 is the year where protagonists become misunderstood antagonists like Optimus Prime in “Transformers 5.” So, where are fans getting this idea?
First stop, the film’s title is “Transformer: The Last Knight” released its latest trailer. The trailer shows Optimus Prime trying to kill Bumblebee.
As of the moment, this is the only detail that can be speculated from the current promo of the film. The information regarding the plot is still scarce, but one thing’s for sure, cars and robots tend to be more joyless nowadays, Collider reports.
However, there’s always humor in his films, even when robots are trying to ruin the earth. The tagline of the film is also another hint.
The tagline reads “Rethink your heroes.” This could mean that Optimus Prime, one of the earth’s heroes, is becoming someone else. Though this is still unsure, the only clear thing here is that “Transformers 5” is becoming more gritty and darker.
“Transformers 5” by Michael Bay also showed some photos weeks ago. From the photos and the title, it can be understood that ancient robots will take part in the new film.
There are also cyber-dino warriors that are flying in Scotland skies. Will there be more than just technology in the new film?
It can be recalled that dragons existed during the time of Merlin so, does this mean the dragons people knew were alien robots? That’s another speculation that only the film can clarify, Cinema Blend reports.
So, will Optimus Prime have the same fate with “The Fate of the Furious” protagonist? Fans just hope that 2017 isn’t the year that favorite protagonists becomes dark and evil.
“Transformers: The Last Knight” is scheduled to hit the theaters on June 23, 2017. The film stars Mark Wahlberg, Laura Haddock, Stanley Tucci, Isabela Moner, and many more.
