Obigo is currently developing a "Chrome Blink-based HTML5 engine, which will enhance the browser experience of your infotainment systems," according to a Blog on Blackberry's website. Blackberry QNX has more than fifty percent global market share and is present in over 60 million vehicles. The technology of Obigo will simplify and accelerate the development cycle of the product.

The event was unveiled by John Chen (CEO of Blackberry) and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau who said that "With the opening of its innovation centre in Ottawa, BlackBerry is helping to establish our country as the global leader in software and security for connected car and autonomous vehicle development," based on the news by QNX.
