'Twin Peaks' April Premiere Or January Sundance Preview? What's The Truth? Get The Details!

Is the "Twin Peaks" revival series getting an April premiere or will the show be previewed at the Sundance Film Festival this January? Conflicting reports have emerged regarding the returning mystery drama created by Mark Frost and David Lynch. So what's the real deal?

It was Deadline that first reported the show's preview in an exclusive published Jan. 2. It stated that "Twin Peaks" might become a part of the line-up at the Sundance Film Festival.

The report cited that people privy to the event have been making arrangements to screen the first episode of the revival series. But it also stated that Showtime is denying that talks are taking place behind the scenes.

Mark Frost issued a statement on his Twitter, however, addressing the Sundance rumor on Jan. 4. He confirmed that the Deadline source has been mistaken and that no "Twin Peaks" will be airing at the festival in Utah.

After Frost's announcement, The AV Club reports that the "Twin Peaks" revival is likely to premiere on Showtime on April 30. A promotion calendar for the series, which apparently came from the cable network, highlighted the specific date.

This has led fans to conclude that this is the date that the network intends to begin airing the show. But Showtime has not made any official announcements as of press time.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Showtime has been very tight-lipped about "Twin Peaks" ever since the announcement that it will be bringing back the show after over 25 years. What's certain so far is that old-timers like Kyle MacLachlan, Mädchen Amick, Alicia Witt, David Duchovny and Russ Tamblyn are going to be in the revival series.

Meanwhile, Naomi Watts, Laura Dern, Ashley Judd, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Michael Cera have also joined the show as new additions. Check out a preview in the video below.
