Early this March, "The Walking Dead" star Christian Serratos announced she's expecting her first baby with boyfriend David Boyd. Co-star Alanna Masterson, who has gone through her first pregnancy two years before, dished some parenting advice for her friend.
During a red carpet event for the highly popular series, Masterson, 28, said the most valuable thing she learned from parenting so far is finding a balance especially after going back to work on the set. She explained to People she had a hard time being away from her baby in the beginning because of "The Walking Dead."
"It's sad and you're like, 'Oh man, I'm missing out on so much,'" Masterson said. Eventually, however, Masterson was able to work things out and advised Serratos to achieve "balance, and having a really good partner who's there for you and is able to take care of your kid when you're working," she said.
Masterson, a mom to 16-year-old Marlowe whom she's raising with boyfriend Brick Stowell, also got plenty of parenting advice when she became a first-time mom. One of which came from her own mother Carol who told her to "always make it a safe and happy environment for your kid even when things are tough or when times are tough," as per Hello.
Meanwhile, 26-year-old Serratos revealed her baby bump in public for the first time during the red carpet event. The actress told Us Weekly she's learning about motherhood from her own character Rosita.
"She's still true and honest to who she is, which is a little rough around the edges," she said. "It's not always pretty, but that's reality. And that's her humanity is that she's not perfect."
Serratos and the father of her child have been dating for three years. They are said to be excited about welcoming their first born.
