"Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" won the E3 event in Los Angeles in early June. The Nintendo game was one of the most lauded presentations at the said expo and attendees have attested that this will be the game to watch for 2017.
Per Eurogamer, "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" showed the most advanced and interesting design and features of any upcoming games. It's by far the most ambitious Nintendo game release and one that could best other new releases in 2017 for the Game of the Year title.

Hyrule is going to be a massive world in "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." It will allow players to explore and do many things at a pace they can set themselves. The open world will have players following a narrative, but at the same time doing side quests that will derive hours of pleasure of gameplay. "Zelda is a garden in a box game where the player can freely go around and experience [the world]," said game creator Shigeru Miyamoto via IGN.
Miyamoto also confirmed there will be plenty of missions and quests, which will have players choose the direction of their character's development in game. Getting lost within the game will actually open up plenty of possibilities and discoveries for the players.

When killed, enemies will no longer drop items that players can use to heal or improve their level. Instead, players will learn to find other ways to replenish their health, per We Got This Covered. As an open world, there will be little useless items this time around, but there will be plenty of cool items for players to collect.
These items will also be dependent on where they were acquired or used. For instance, if the player is in a cold climate in game, the character can drink the right elixir to keep him comfortable and safe. Many classic items "Zelda" players have used in past games have also been changed or improved, per Games Radar.

Cooking skill in "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will become a bit more complex, but it will still be an important gameplay element. Puzzles in the side quests are going to be different, in that solving won't follow a linear solution and will require more strategizing.
Combats will also become more interactive. For instance, Link can drop his sword to pick up other weapons, or Link can exhibit better dodge techniques. Link can also move about with ease when battling enemies. For instance, he can stand on a rock in order to battle a giant.
