'Stranger Things' Season 2 Air Date & Cast News: Eleven Replaced? Max, Billy & Roman Added As Filming Begins October

Netflix is wasting no time with its summer hit "Stranger Things." After confirming the second season Tuesday, the show is set to start filming in Atlanta in October. Netflix also released the details of the show's new characters: Max, Billy & Roman, but Eleven's (Millie Bobby Brown) return is still unknown.

Three new characters are going to be added to "Stranger Things" for Season 2 and production is already searching for the actors who will play them. Max, Billy & Roman are coming to the small town of Hawkins and they sure are an interesting lot.

Max is a described as a 13-year-old tomboy who prefers skateboards over bikes. Her stepbrother, Billy, 17, is described as an unpredictable girlfriend-stealer, who might have murdered someone in the past. The siblings have a complicated relationship on "Stranger Things," per The Hollywood Reporter.

TV Line suggests that Max might be taking over Eleven's void, who disappeared in "Stranger Things" Season 1. Will she become friends with Mike, Dustin, Lucas and Will to replace Eleven in the group? It should be noted that the first episode of "Stranger Things" Season 2 is entitled "MadMax," as revealed in its teaser below.

The other character, Roman, is described as antisocial who suffered a great loss. Aging from 30 to 38, it's still unclear whether Roman is going to be male or female on "Stranger Things" Season 2.

Meanwhile, filming for "Stranger Things" Season 2 is scheduled to begin in October until April 2017. Biz Journals reports that a production crew is set to start work in Atlanta this month at the EUE/Screen Gems Studios.

The second season of "Stranger Things" will pick up one year after Will was found in the Upside Down and Eleven vanished into thin air. The first season, which debuted on Netflix July 15, had eight episodes. Set for a 2017 release, "Stranger Things" Season 2 will have nine episodes.
