At this point, the future of "Alaskan Bush People" remains uncertain. But while there is still no words from Discovery about its renewal, speculations are still running online. One of the recent ones is that the show would return but it would focus on the eldest of the children, Matt Brown.
In "Alaskan Bush People" Season 3, the show touched on Matt Brown leaving the bush to get into a rehab and fix his alcohol problem. But the season ends with no Matt Brown returning home with Bam Bam, which was a big disappointment to his parents, Billy and Amy. If the reality series returns, Aussie Network News said it could center on Matt Brown's rehabilitation and his return to the family. It can also expound on Matt's problem dealing with his own issues, which was the main reason he turned to alcohol. How do you think Matt will be able to handle himself back in the wild after cleaning himself up at the rehab? Would he want to return in the first place? How were his siblings coping with the absence of their oldest brother?
Then there is also a possibility that the Brown family might not be back in Browntown. Parent Herald earlier learned that the family may have to move to Seattle while Billy gets his treatment for his seizures. Also, the family seems to be still in trouble with the Alaskan government.
Despite the cancellation rumors on the back of the show's authenticity, "Alaskan Bush People" is reportedly back filming for another season. There are valid signs that the network has picked up the show for another run. In March, it was included in Discovery Channel's list of new and returning shows for the 2016-2017 TV season. The network also continues to air reruns of the show.
