Following the cancellation of "America's Next Top Model" on The CW network last year, VH1 gave many "ANTM" fans some glimmer of hope when the network announced in February that they will reboot the hot reality modeling competition series for its cycle 23. VH1 revealed the reboot comes with a new location, new host and a different host.
Even though fans are already excited for the upcoming premiere of "America's Next Top Model" cycle 23 this December, some skeptics aren't convinced the competition's "fierce-a-fied rebirth" may not be a success. According to The Los Angeles Loyolan, avid fan and sophomore graphic design major Yue Wang claimed the upcoming "ANTM" reboot will not work because it won't be as good since creator and executive producer Tyra Banks has exited the show.
The publication further noted that Banks' presence on "America's Next Top Model" cycle 23 as its executive producer will no longer be a "selling" factor. Speaking of Banks' "ANTM" exit, many fans are still disappointed that the 42-year-old model and entrepreneur will be replaced by 25-year-old British singer-actress Rita Ora as the new host of the competition.
With that said, many fans took to Instagram to express their sentiments regarding the changes in "America's Nest Top Model" cycle 23, especially when it comes to Ora as the show's new host. In fact, some commenters expressed their doubts on Ora's hosting abilities, as Parent Herald previously reported.
Meanwhile, part of the changes in "America's Next Top Model" cycle 23 is the season's set of judges. Entertainment Weekly revealed the reboot will introduce celebrity stylist Law Roach, Paper magazine's chief creative officer Drew Elliot and plus-size model Ashley Graham as the members of the competition's panel of judges.
With Graham's presence in "America's Next Top Model" cycle 23, Huffington Post reported the model's "killer outfits" are to something to look forward for this season. Based on her Instagram posts, the model gave her followers a glimpse of her fashion-forward attires and flawless makeup looks.
In other "America's Next Top Model" cycle 23-related news, former "ANTM" winner Jourdan Miller reportedly filed for bankruptcy in Oregon last November. As per Daily Mail's report, the 22-year-old cycle 20 alum has zero balance in her bank account after she scored a NEXT Model Management contract, a $100,000 ad campaign for Guess and an eight-page magazine spread for Nylon in 2013.
"America's Next Top Model" cycle 23 is set to premiere in December but VH1 has yet to announce the show's official air date and timeslot. So, do you think the upcoming "ANTM" reboot will be a failure? Share your thoughts below and follow Parent Herald for more news and updates.
