‘Pokémon GO’ Charmander Guide, Tips & Tricks: Its Weaknesses, Strengths, Best Quick & Charge Moves, & Everything You Should Know

Every "Pokémon GO" player wants to own a Charizard. The fire-breathing lizard dragon is one of the most powerful Pokémon in the game, but its humble beginnings shouldn't be forgotten.

The intimidating Charizard came from the cute Charmander, one of the starter Pokémon in "Pokémon GO." Here's everything you need to know about Charmander, from its strengths and weaknesses to its quick and charge moves.

Charmander's maximum CP, or Combat Points, is 955.24, according to Ranked Boost. The Pokémon's base attack is 128, base defense is 108, and base stamina is 78. Charmander is strong against Bug, Fire, Grass, Fairy, Steel, and Ice-Type Pokémon, but is weakest when fighting Rock, Ground, and Water-Type monsters.

Charmander's spawn location can be found in places that are warm and dry or arid such as beach and parks. The Fire-Type Pokémon can also be caught in residential areas, cities, and neighborhoods.

To hatch a Charmander from an Egg, you need to walk 2 KM or 1.25 miles. A perfect Charmander IV hatch will have a 545 CP.

To evolve Charmander into Charmeleon in "Pokémon GO," you need to have 25 Charmander Candies. Evolving your Charmeleon into Charizard requires 100 Candies.

Scratch and Ember are Charmander's Quick moves in "Pokémon GO." According to Ranked Boost, the Scratch move has a pretty high 12-point damage per second (DPS), while the Ember move has 9.52 DPS that increases to 11.90 DPS due to the attack bonus (STAB).

Charmander's Charge moves are Flame Burst (17.68 DPS with STAB), Flamethrower (23.71 DPS with STAB), and Flame Charge (10.08 DPS with STAB). The creature excels at both defending and attacking Gyms in "Pokémon GO," with Ember and Flamethrower as its best Gym defender moveset. The Pokémon's highest DPS moveset is Scratch and Flamethrower.

According to IGN, it's best to use Charmander against other creatures that haven't fully evolved yet in "Pokémon GO." For instance, don't pit it against a Vileplume (Gloom's evolution) even though the latter is a Grass-Type Pokémon.

Charmander and its first evolution, Charmeleon, are the most efficient Pokémon to use as Buddies, Parent Herald previously reported. Walking with the Pokémon for 2 KM gives the "Pokémon GO" player one Charmander Candy.
