Some new details have been released for the upcoming "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare," with the game's beta set to come soon for the console version of the game; PlayStation 4 owners get first dibs for about a week before Xbox One owners, meanwhile PC players can just sit and twiddle their thumbs.
Metro reported that the beta testing for Activision's next entry in the "Call of Duty" franchise, "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare," will be getting a beta soon that will begin near the tail end of October. PlayStation 4 players will not have to wait as long as those playing on the Xbox One, with the "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" beta coming to the platform on Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. PT.
The early release of the "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" beta to the PlayStation 4 is due to Activision's new partnership with the Sony console. Whereas in the previous generation Xbox 360 owners were the first to get new updates and releases in the series, the tables have turned and now PlayStation 4 owners are getting first dibs on new "Call of Duty" updates including beta testing schedules.
IGN reported that the early PlayStation 4 beta is expected to close on October 17, though details of the shutdown are apparently unclear. Xbox One players will be able to jump into the beta on October 21 along with those on the PlayStation 4, if their playtime does get interrupted, with the same times as the early release; meanwhile PC fans will just have to wait as the "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" beta is not coming to the platform.
Perhaps in a bid to entice more to shell out cash before the game even releases, Activision is limiting the beta solely to those who pre-ordered "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare." In other words, those who might want to try out the game personally before making up their minds before committing to a purchase will have to buy the game in the first place.
