Earlier this month, several fans freaked out when a "Red Dead Redemption 2" poster circulated online. But in spite of the fact the poster in question was not legitimate, fans remained hopeful for the potential launch of the "Red Dead Redemption" sequel anytime soon.
For the past several months and up to this day, "Red Dead Redemption 2" has been making headlines as speculations about its possible reveal continues to persist. Unfortunately, game developer Rockstar Games, who neither deny nor confirm the reports, has remained silent about the development of the much-awaited game sequel.
Avid "Red Dead Redemption 2" fans have already been disappointed for three times since June when Rockstar Games ditched three major gaming events this year. As Parent Herald previously noted, the events included the E3 2016 in Los Angeles in June, the Gamescom Expo in Germany in August and the most recent Sony PlayStation Meeting in New York City earlier this month.
Despite Rockstar Games' silence and absence in the gaming events, fans are still hoping for "Red Dead Redemption 2" release soon, especially when Alphr suggested could surface over the next few months. The online publication also hinted the possibility that the game's developer has been holding back the launch of "RDR 2" until the release of two latest game consoles, Microsoft's Xbox Scorpio and Sony's PS4 Pro.
With the upcoming launches of Xbox Scorpio and PS4 Pro, rumors have it that Rockstar Games has decided to release "Red Dead Redemption 2" in the first quarter of 2017, which will be sometime in February. But since Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive pointed out that they're usually not in a hurry in making game sequels, iDigitalTimes suggested the game developer could miss a 2017 release date and the new title may not be launched until 2018.
As for the other speculated details about "Red Dead Redemption 2," Fraghero revealed the upcoming game sequel will feature more than one playable character and a massive open-world setting. Other "RDR 2" reports also suggested that gamers would be cast in the roles of Seth and Irish, as well as another character that can be fully customized.
In addition, "Red Dead Redemption 2" would reportedly have a new title and one of the suggested ones was "Legends of the Old West." The said sequel would also feature safehouses that can be bought, as well as gangs that players can join.
