Just a week ago, Studio Wildcard launched "ARK: Survival Evolved" PC v248.0 patch, which brought some brand new content and exciting features including the Procedurally Generated ARK system. This week, fans and gamers are expecting the release of the game's PC v249.0 patch, which is estimated to be released on Oct. 27.
"ARK: Survival Evolved" PC v249.0 patch will bring the sequel to the game's "ultimate Survival Holiday-Themed Event" known as "ARK: Fear Evolved 2," which will feature vampires, Lycans and DodoRex. According to the post found on ARK Community Forums, Survivors could get the chance to tame Snakes, not to mention encounters with Rabid Dire Wolves and Vampire Bats.
What's really more interesting in "ARK: Survival Evolved" PC v249.0 patch is the possibility that Survivors will turn into the realm's most lethal monsters as unsafe encounters with Vampire Bats and Rabid Dire Wolves could give them Vampirism and Lycanthrophy. Hence, Survivors could become either a Vampire or a Werewolf with supernatural powers such as "superhuman sight, speed, strength, gliding of a Vampire or the moon-triggered body-morphing ferocity of a Werewolf."
Furthermore, "ARK: Survival Evolved" PC v249.0 patch notes also hinted the coming of more structures, creatures, gears, armors and weapons. As for the new structures, dynamic-length bridges will be added. There will also be underwater dungeons and the introduction of aquatic and amphibious mating or lifecycles.
"ARK: Survival Evolved" PC v249.0 patch is expected to be released on Thursday, Oct. 27. However, previous announcement on Steam noted the update's ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) was on Oct. 25.
Meanwhile, "ARK: Survival Evolved" massive PC v248.0 update was recently released and it added three petrifying new dinos (Kaprosuchus Paludentium, Diplodocus Insulaprincep, and Chalicotherium Obsideoquus) and major gameplay updates such as the Procedurally Generated ARKS, which will allow players to create their own unique, customized or randomized realm, WCCFTech reported.
In other "ARK: Survival Evolved" news, VG24/7 revealed the game's highly criticized "Scorched Earth" expansion pack is currently on sale for $14.99, a $5 discount from its regular price of $19.99.
Additionally, "ARK: Survival Evolved" is also under development for PS4 with VR support and Xbox One via its ID@Xbox program. As of late, "ARK" is playable through Microsoft's Game Preview on Xbox One and available through Steam Early Access program on PC with Oculus Rift VR support.
