"Vikings Season 4" Part 2 has a big task ahead for Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) and protege Ivar The Boneless (Alex Hogh Anderson). As it is Ragnar Lothbrok and Ivar are set to meet their enemies in "Vikings Season 4" Part 2, including Alfred (Ferdia Walsh Peelo) and Aethelred (Darren Cahill).
In the "Vikings Season 4" Part 2 trailer, The Seer (John Kavanagh) warned Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig) that Ragnar Lothbrok returning to Kattegat is not good news. In fact, because Ragnar Lothbrok showed up in the "Vikings Season 4" Part 1 finale, after many years of absence, blood will flow according to The Seer.
Blood and death are definitely on the menu for "Vikings Season 4" Part 2 because Ragnar Lothbrok is set to revisit King Ecbert (Linus Roache) in Wessex. King Ecbert had Viking farmers slaughtered in "Vikings Season 3" ("The Usurper") by Aethelwulf (Moe Dunford) and his soldiers as A.V. Club relays.
This betrayal of the Vikings by the Saxons had always been a sore point for Ragnar Lothbrok. Fans would recall that Yidu (Dianne Doan) paid with her life when she dared speak to Ragnar Lothbrok about this Wessex betrayal in "Vikings Season 4" Part 1.
However, "Vikings Season 4" Part 2 will bring Ragnar Lothbrok and King Ecbert face to face once more. Variety cites Michael Hirst in the promise that the reunion between Ragnar Lothbrok and King Ecbert will be extraordinary.
Michael Hirst hints that the meeting between Ragnar Lothbrok and King Ecbert will be among the most emotional episodes in "Vikings Season 4" and in the entire history series. As noteworthy, though, is how Ivar The Boneless and his brothers are anticipated to meet their Saxon counterparts Aethelred and Alfred when this reunion happens in "Vikings Season 4."
Historically, Alfred is responsible for the defeat of a fleet of Vikings that invaded the Saxons. While "Vikings Season 4" Part 2 may be an initial meet and greet, fans of the series should not miss any of the undertones.
"Vikings Season 4" Part 2 will premiere on History on Nov 30. Are you looking forward to seeing that payback happen between Ragnar Lothbrok and King Ecbert in "Vikings Season 4" Part 2?
