Good news, "ANTM" fans! VH1 has finally set the official air date for the upcoming reboot of the infamous Tyra Banks' modelling competition reality show, "America's Next Top Model." The show's cycle 23 will premiere on Dec. 12, Monday.
Ever since The CW network cancelled "America's Next Top Model" last year, fans remained hopeful for a potential reboot. Thanks to VH1 for hearing the fans' call, the network announced in February that the popular modelling reality show will have a "fierce-a-fied rebirth" this year.
In "America's Next Top Model" cycle 23, fans will be seeing a lot of changes - from the host, the panel of judges and the location. According to Marie Claire, the show will comprise 14 episodes, featuring the usual all-female cast of would-be models.
Speaking of the new things in "America's Next Top Model" cycle 23, VH1 revealed that Tyra Banks and Ken Mok will remain as the show's producers, hinting Banks' surprise appearances throughout the season. The upcoming season will also return to the Big Apple (New York City) as its new location.
As for the new "America's Next Top Model" cycle 23 host, 25-year-old British singer-actress Rita Ora is replacing Banks' hosting position on the show. The panel of judges, on the other hand, is composed of celebrity stylist Law Roach, Paper Magazine Chief Creative Officer Drew Elliot and supermodel Ashley Graham.
Even though "America's Next Top Model" cycle 23 seems exciting, some skeptics claim that the reboot will fail as it will not be as good as its predecessor. Due to Banks' exit, which is deemed as the show's "selling" factor, they believe the competition's VH1 rebirth will not be a success, as Parent Herald previously reported.
Meanwhile, are you excited for the season premiere of "America's Next Top Model" cycle 23? Tune in on VH1 at 10 p.m. on Dec. 12, Monday. The show's premiere will follow the airing of the brand new episodes of "Love & Hip Hop."
