A couple of stars are joining the new comedy-drama on NBC, "This Is Us." Denis O'Hare has been cast for a recurring role, while Jimmi Simpson and Jami Gertz are set to appear for guest roles.
"American Horror Story" veteran Denis O'Hare has signed for a recurring role on "This Is Us." He is going to play a character named Jessie, according to Entertainment Weekly. Jessie is a friend of William (played by Ron Cephas Jones). Aside from that, no further details were provided regarding the character, which is expected to appear later in the season.
Meanwhile, Jimmi Simpson is set to join "This Is Us" as a guest star. According to an exclusive report from Variety, the "Westworld" actor is going to play a successful Wall Street trader named Andy Fannan. Andy Fannan works with Randall (played by Sterling K. Brown).
Jami Gertz has also been cast for a guest role on "This Is Us." The "Still Standing" star will play as Marin, Kate's (Chrissy Metz) new boss. She is scheduled to appear on Tuesday, Nov. 1 episode, when she hires Kate as an event coordinator, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Denis O'Hare is also known for his roles in "The Good Wife," "The Comedians" and "True Blood." Jimmi Simpson popularly appeared in "House of Cards," "Hap and Leonard" and "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia." Jami Gertz's credits include "The Neighbors," "Ally McBeal" and "Square Pegs."
"This Is Us" is now on its sixth episode, titled as "Career Days." "This Is Us" Season 1 Episode 6 sneak peek reveals that the characters will talk about their career choices. Randall is going to have doubts about the career he has chosen and whether he is going down the wrong path. Kate interviews for a new job. It looks perfect, except that there is a catch.
