MacBook Pro 2016 Release Date, Latest News & Update: Apple's Latest Laptop Release A Strategy To Phase Out Mac Desktops?

The unveiling of Apple's newest laptop for 2016, MacBook Pro, at the Hello Again event is not just a mere introduction of the tech giant's latest addition to the family. More than that, the Cupertino-based company has thought an end in mind: to merge Mac desktop and laptop lines in one.

MacBook Pro was introduced with a new set of enticing features, according to MacWorld. The 15" variant had up to 2.6 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7, Radeon Pro 450 Graphics, up to 16 GB internal memory and 256 GB external memory, four Thunderbolt 3 ports and the revolutionary Touch Bar equipped with Touch ID.

But even though all these features are near to exceptional, people would still prefer anything that fits their pockets perfectly. They need what enables them to multi-task just like what they can do in a laptop or PC.

It was no secret that Apple's strategy has been maximizing all possible, profitable features in one device as thin, minuscule and lightweight as possible, just as how most people prefer. Hence, the idea of further maintaining a desktop line will not be a stable idea in the long run, with people leaning on a more portable device like the iPhone or Apple's laptop, MacBook Pro or MacBook Air. This transition, however, won't be happening overnight.

Reviews on Apple's latest MacBook release had a sloppy entrance. Forbes reports that MacBook Pro 2016 release is disappointing and had one of technology's "greatest sins", with it being a boring release. Nobody exactly knew for whom MacBook Pro is aimed for, further says the report.

But going back to the first report, this has said to be Apple's strategy after all. MacBook Pro has been released to cater both the professionals and Mac users at home. The bait? MacBook's ground-breaking Touch Bar which pulls great attention from both markets, yet in all other aspects, the latest MacBook Pro release specifications are reportedly limited for the professionals.
