The long wait is almost over as "The Last Guardian's" final week is just right around the corner. To help contain the anticipation, a new trailer was released recently, and the seven years of development looks very much worth it.
Parent Herald recently reported on "The Last Guardian" release date. Updates regarding the action were scarce and doubts once again took hold of the gaming community. For seven long years, "The Last Guardian's" developers halted the release due to the compatibility of Sony's current hardware and some other issues.
Yesterday, all those doubts were put to rest as Sony PlayStation's YouTube channel released a 30-second trailer for "The Last Guardian" with the title "Action Gameplay." The trailer or teaser showcased several gameplay cut-scenes from the game itself.
"The Last Guardian" video trailer shows the unnamed boy and Trico falling and jumping across the ruins. Another scene shows what looked like soldiers made of stone with glowing green eyes carrying Trico. But the most interesting scene in the trailer was the appearance of another winged beast, which was wearing some kind of armor and possibly be one of the game's villains.
Fumito Ueda, creator of "The Last Guardian" told GameSpot's Scott Butterworth who played the game during E3 that "he was set out to create something TIMELESS." Butterworth in a statement told GameSpot's Peter Brown that the first time he played the game on the PS3 console that "it never felt like it a PS3 game." To sum up, the combined reactions from those who experienced the wonder and awe of Fumito Ueda's game, "The Last Guardian" could really become one of the gaming industry's timeless masterpiece.
In a couple of weeks, "The Last Guardian" will face its last and final challenge that will decide if the game's seven years of development truly paid off. The gaming community's verdict will decide if "The Last Guardian" is going to be Fumito Hueda's LAST project.
