NBA Trade Rumors: James Harden to the Boston Celtics for Three Players and Two Draft Picks

Trade rumors in the NBA suggest that the Boston Celtics are looking to acquire star shooting guard, James Harden of the Houston Rockets in exchange for small forward, Jaylen Brown, shooting guard, Avery Bradley, and point guard, Marcus Smart along with two future first round draft picks via the Brooklyn Nets. Before last season's trade deadline, the Celtics and the Rockets were allegedly already in talks about a possible trade for the four-time NBA All-Star, Harden.

Numerous star players in the rumor mill have been linked to the Celtics in recent weeks, but they have not made a deal with any of them. Nonetheless, their search for an all-star caliber player continues, and the latest to be linked to the Celtics is the Rockets' shooting guard, James Harden.

In a report published by Celtics Life, it is stated that the Celtics have made "significant progress" with regards to acquiring a star player. Sportsrageous also reports that the Rockets are considering a trade deal with the Celtics particularly involving Harden.

According to Inquisitr, bringing Harden to the Celtics would arguably make them a better team, however, if this hypothetical transaction comes to being, it may affect the Celtics' future as rookie forward Brown is predicted to be an NBA All-Star within the forthcoming seasons. Furthermore, the deal includes two first round draft picks originally from the Nets, which are likely to be high picks since the Nets are anticipated to have disappointing seasons ahead.

The rumored trade would be expensive for the Celtics, but obtaining a star player like Harden would make them consider the deal. If the trade materializes, the Celtics' core would remain intact, while Harden's addition could drastically improve their backcourt.

As for the Rockets, they will remain to have a solid shooting guard replacement in Avery Bradley, while the likes of veteran forward Trevor Ariza can help tutor the rookie Jaylen Brown. Marcus Smart has been putting disappointing numbers, but if he can turn things around, he could be in the point guard rotation immediately with the Rockets.

If the Rockets are indeed looking to enter a rebuilding phase, do you think this will be a good deal for them? Let us know what you think in the comments section below!
