An image from "Watch Dogs 2" showing a woman's privates made waves across the gaming community after a player shared the content on his Twitter account. Sony was said to have banned the player for a month.
A recent photo posted on Twitter sent shockwaves among the "Watch Dogs 2" community. A player who came by a woman lying on the pavement with exposing her privates shared the image thru PS4 share. Ubisoft was quick to act and posted a statement to Polygon stating: "While 'Watch Dogs 2' is a mature-rated game, we apologize and will update this NPC model to make it more consistent with other NPC models in the game in a patch to be released this week."
Ubisoft also in the same statement expressed that they are currently working with their first party partners to ensure that everyone can still play "Watch Dogs 2" and share the contents of the game within the boundaries of their first party partner's code of conduct. Meanwhile, the player who tweeted the image said that Sony has undone the suspension, which means that the one-month penalty will not be sanctioned.
Aside from the current "Watch Dogs 2" issue, the seamless multiplayer feature of the game is still inaccessible. This feature was supposed to be the game's newest innovation. According to an article by Forbes, Ubisoft discovered an issue tied to the seamless multiplayer function of the game which causes crashes and lags. Temporarily disabling the feature was necessary to ensure the smooth gameplay experience during launch. The "Watch Dogs 2" developers are currently working on a patch for the issue at hand.
Dave Their who wrote the Forbes article states that "a game should either ship with all of its advertised components in working order, or not ship." Ubisoft has been in the spotlight lately, and not the good spotlight kind. Rumors of a hostile takeover by Vivendi is also one of the company's main concern, moreover that the company needs to focus on the most important component of their business which is the consumer.
