'Grand Theft Auto 6' Release Date, Latest News Update: What Are The New Things Coming In Rockstar Games' 'GTA 6'?

Three years since "GTA 5" and still, Rockstar Games is pursuing the silent game on its latest "Grand Theft Auto" installment, "GTA 6." Fans are desperately waiting for any sign from the creators of the open-world game, yet it appears that the company might keep things under the wraps longer than expected. For the meantime, here is a round-up of what can reportedly be expected from "GTA 6."

Rockstar Games has been completely mum regarding "GTA 6" as they are currently focused on another title, "Red Dead Redemption 2," which is slated to drop on fall next year. Neurogadget speculates that as soon as Rockstar Games complete "RDR2," "GTA 6" will follow in production.

Hence, it can be expected that the latest "Grand Theft Auto" sequel may hit shelves in 2020. The release of "GTA 6" is also reported to be based on when Sony and Microsoft will be releasing their next generation console.

Rockstar Games is also gearing up to make "GTA 6" virtual reality-friendly, and it is said to be one of the reasons for its delay. At best, if the gaming console companies will not be delaying their port releases, "GTA 6" may be available at 2018.

New reports say that the crime-themed game might still be set in fictionalized Miami, instead of a foreign country location. According to MobiPicker, "GTA 6" might be utilizing a Vice City map after a YouTube vlogger spotted an easter egg in "GTA 5."

As previously reported by Parent Herald, "GTA 6" is planned to move off shore as Rockstar Games is setting it to Tokyo. However, difficulties arise with this bold choice, including licenses of cars to be used for the latest "Grand Theft Auto" installment.

Nonetheless, the gaming company was then said to continue the plan despite the problems. The Britain capital, London, is also rumored to be the next "GTA 6" location.

As for the gameplay, word is that "GTA 6" will be having its very first female protagonist. If reports were to be believed, this new female character will be voiced by Hollywood actress, Eva Mendes.
