Separate sources have reported that Apple is making do without the home button on the various iOS devices. These include the iPad, iPhone, and iPod. This would seem to be the next logical step in the evolution of the Apple mobile device.
The Japanese website Macotakara reports that the next iPad will have an almost bezel-less design. The glass will extend almost from edge to edge. The top will still have the camera, but the bottom will continue with the bezel-less design. The home button will be deleted to allow for a bezel-less bottom. The home button becomes part of the screen.
The iPhone 7 already uses a design where the home button no longer moves, but serves as a haptic control without any movement. Freeing the bottom of the iPad and filling it with the screen also helps to free up some space inside the tablet. This, however, leads to a thicker iPad to 7.5 mm, which is supposed to be as thick as the original iPad.
This is not the first tablet or mobile device which does not have a home button or even a set of buttons at the bottom. There are several mobile manufacturers who have done away with the home button. After the iPhone included a haptic control button, a person can assume that the rest of the product lines would have the same items. Instead, Apple has decided to jump that step and move on to totally do away with the home button.
Macrumors report that Apple would include three different sizes for the iPod. The new models will have different sizes, including 7.9 inch Mini Model, 10.1 inch, and a 12.9 inch model.
