John Krasinski Confirms 'Jack Ryan' February Production, Prepares By Getting Jacked For New Carlton Cuse Spy Action Series

"Jack Ryan," the spy action drama based on Tom Clancy's novels, is going to begin production in February. Its star John Krasinski confirmed the schedule and revealed that getting jacked up is part of his preparations for the Carlton Cuse-produced series.

The show has been given a 10-episode order by Amazon last August for its streaming subscription service. The company has not yet given a confirmed release date perhaps because production is only about to roll.

"We're firing up in mid-February, and I couldn't be more excited," John Krasinski said, according to Entertainment Weekly. "Jack Ryan" has been described as a 10-part movie and not a typical TV show because of the way it will be presented.

The story of "Jack Ryan" is an original one, which has been inspired by the hero in Tom Clancy's book series. "Carlton Cuse and Graham Roland, what they're coming up with is a completely different take," the actor further said.

Since the character of Jack Ryan is a CIA analyst, he'll be more of a smart and brainy action hero than a muscled one. But John Krasinski revealed that he's still working out to prepare for filming, if only to please the Marines who would be watching his show once it's out.

"Listen -- [Jack Ryan] is a Marine and after doing '13 Hours,' I know the Marines well," he told Entertainment Tonight. "I think they're going to tell you, "You better get '13 Hours' jacked for it and do us proud."

John Krasinski hasn't done television since his comedy series "The Office" ended in 2013. But he told the news outlet he couldn't let something special pass up, especially when he got hooked on the pitch by Carlton Cuse.

As Parent Herald previously reported, Abbie Cornish will join the actor in "Jack Ryan" as his love interest. Keep updated on the show's development by checking back on this site for the news.
