Finally, Google has released the latest version of Android: version 7.0 Nougat. The announcement was made last August 22. With users itching to upgrade, Motorola followed suit with a confirmation of the release and a statement that the Moto Z and Moto Z Force would be receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat beginning this week with the treatment going global. By "global" that should mean including the Moto Z DROID and Moto Z Force DROID in the US on Verizon, along with the unlocked Moto Z.
Motorola's German operations, on the other hand, took to its Twitter page to affirm the dates that Android 7.0 Nougat will be available to select devices from the company.
According to a reported tweet from Moto Deutschland, the much anticipated Android 7.0 Nougat update will be found on the Moto G and Moto Play before Christmas, while the Moto Z Play will see the update a month later, sometime January 2017. The Moto X lineup and the Nexus 6 should be next in line.
After months and months of waiting, Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus still have not received the Android 7.0 Nougat update. Motorola already provided an update to most of its devices but the company still has left out some of its popular phones.
Among the updates that will come along the Android 7.0 Nougat are enhanced Doze mode and multi-screen support enabling users to run two apps simultaneously. End-users will soon be able to take advantage of Android Nougat's new features as the much-awaited Android 7.0 Nougat makes its way to Motorola devices.
